The Center for Student Involvement is committed to creating educational experiences for students that expand classroom learning and promote involvement, retention, challenge and success through student organizations and campus programs. The Data Student Assistant will perform various administrative duties for the multiple programs and processes within CSI. Primarily this student will be compiling and entering data related to the work of registered student organizations and the Center for Student Involvement into graphs and other documents for reporting purposes. This person will work up to 10 hours a week.

Administrative and Assessment Support:

  • Assist with the implementation, data collection, and analysis of departmental assessment efforts.
  • Assist in analysis of surveys and research gathering efforts, leadership development, report writing, and program assessment projects.
  • Research and benchmark peer institutions with comparable programs to the Center for Student Involvement.
  • Consult with CSI staff members on marketing and social media research for evaluating CSI programs and events.
  • Enter data into swipe system, AggieLife and Excel for analysis.
  • Compile usage analytics from website, AggieLife and other communication tools.
  • Generate reports, graphs and survey summaries to guide departmental planning.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Other duties as assigned

 Job Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Must be a registered UC Davis student in good academic standing (2.2 GPA).
  • A detail-oriented student with experience with Microsoft Excel including the use of pivot tables and formulas
  • Self-motivation and able to work independently, show initiative or as a team under deadline pressure is required.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise discretion and sound judgment.
  • Able to attend monthly staff in-service trainings on the first Wednesday of each month at 8am while school is in session.
  • Attend Fall Training the week before Welcome Week (September 17-September 21).
  • Attend weekly 1:1’s
