Why do you choose to be involved as a student leader?
Attending UC Davis in the summer session, I saw that Davis didn’t have a chapter of Society of Asian Scientist and Engineers (SASE). Realizing how much SASE helped me when I was still attending UCSC, I decided to create a chapter here to benefit the student population.
What have you learned about leadership through your work with others on campus?
I learned that it is important to put your club out there to get publicity. Interacting and networking with other clubs and hosting joint events is a great way for clubs to get to know each other and to mutually benefit each other.
What is your most memorable experience at UC, Davis? What is your favorite UC, Davis tradition?
The Homecoming game was fun and memorable. I like Homecoming week since there are a variety of events the campus offers.

What advice would you give to a student thinking about getting involved?
My advice to a student is to not be afraid to check out the clubs on campus because people have a stigma that joining organizations is a lot of time and work. However, people don’t realize that getting involved aids in the development of your profession and career choices.
How does getting involved complement your studies?
Creating this organization allowed me and others to network with hospitals and companies in our desired career fields. This has led to networking opportunities and shadowing positions that pertain to my career choice.
My future plan is to go to dental school. Being involved with my club has allowed me to meet other students with similar career paths. Through these interactions, I can ask others for advice and become friends with individuals who share a similar career path as me.
