Student Org Tip
Officers assemble! Our hero radar shows us that it is time for your student org to get its utility belt ready for Fall. Get equipped by joining Center for Student Involvement’s annual Student Organization Leadership Summit. There will be great speakers and workshops to prepare YOU with new superpowers for the year. Be sure to bring more than one member of your student org, as there will be multiple workshops happening at once, lunch, and prizes for you all to win.
The Summit will be on Tuesday, September 26 at 12pm-5pm in the Student Community Center. Register online today!
Agency Account Activation
Unless you had a balance of $35 or more in your agency account (sufficient funds to automatically activate it), your agency account is still expired. Please visit our webpage of Agency Account Policies & Forms to verify your balance and follow the process outlined to activate your Agency Account. Activation can take up to 10 business days.
Authorized Reservers are required to complete the Authorized Reservers Training. This training was designed to educate Authorized Reservers on the often complex reservation request and event approval processes. It is mandatory for all Authorized Reservers to gain access to the Conference and Events Services (CES) reservation system.
CSI is now hiring two Peer Advisors to join our team for the 2017-2018 school year. We are looking for involved students who can answer questions related to Registered Student Organizations, perform administrative tasks, and help with programs. To apply and to get more information, check out the Peer Advisor Application. The application closes on Friday, September 1. Interviews can be in-person or through Google Hangout. Online registration for Fall Quarter 2017 tabling at the Memorial Union and Silo begins Monday, August 28 at 10am. Registration is online and first come, first serve for the first three weeks of Fall Quarter: September 25-29, October 2-6, and October 9-13.
Sign Up To Help Fridge Services & Earn Money for Your Org!
Refrigerators will be delivered Monday, September 25 and Tuesday, September 26. Teams will be paid $500 per team for a full day of work. Lunch will be provided.
ASUCD Refrigerator Services needs three teams each day. Teams should be a minimum of 10 people (15 people preferred) and should plan to work the full day. The day may end early if all fridges are delivered early. Team members are allowed to “split shifts” throughout the day, but each team must maintain a minimum of 10 workers throughout the day. See the schedule below.

If you are a life-long American resident, and if you enjoy meeting new people from other cultures and learning about different perspectives, apply to be a GEM facilitator! It’s a great way to get to know members of the UC Davis international community and develop new skills in intercultural communication and group facilitation at the same time!
GEM provides an opportunity for both domestic and international students, scholars, and spouses to discuss a variety of topics in a creative and safe environment. Topics during previous quarters varied from discussing experiences with cross-cultural greetings to discussing personality types and how they impact everyday life. You can read more about the program on the SISS website. Last spring, we averaged an attendance of 30-40 people each Monday!
When: GEM will occur every Monday night beginning October 23rd from 5:30-6:30pm

Great news for registered student organizations (RSOs). The “free allotment” of reservations (4 hours per week of meeting reservations in general assignment spaces and three special events per quarter in general assignment spaces) will continue during the next academic year. Please see notice below for more details.
Free meeting room access for RSOs: We are pleased to announce that room reservation fees will be covered for 2017-2018 for Registered Student Organizations (RSOs). CSI will continue to support RSOs in the process of reserving on-campus space for their activities. We would like to express our appreciation to the UC Davis student organizations for their patience throughout this process.
Dance groups registered for 2017-2018 can submit Fall 2017 reservation requests for the ARC Dance Studio or Pavilion Upper Levels Northeast, Southeast and Southwest beginning September 1. Do not submit reservation requests in advance of September 1. Groups may make reservations for a period of two hours twice a week (4 hours/week total). Groups may use personal radios in these spaces. No storage space will be available.
To reserve space, a Facility Request Form must be filled out and emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org. Registration status will be verified before reservation requests will be processed. Your organization will receive confirmation stating all times it has reserved. Be sure to keep this confirmation in case of any conflict. Reservations may be cancelled due to special events taking place in Pavilion, and groups will be notified when such cancellations occur.
As you may be aware, SmartSite, a Collaborative Learning Environment for courses and projects, has been replaced on campus. Instruction in SmartSite will end in June 2017. Project sites end sometime in the 2017-2018 academic year.
If your student organization maintains any active SmartSite projects, you must transition to OrgSync. OrgSync allows Registered Student Organizations to access features similar to SmartSite such as calendaring, file sharing, polling, announcements, etc.
Please let CSI know if you need any assistance in setting up a new OrgSync site, or extracting materials from SmartSite.
The Student Organization Wellness Initiative (SOWI) is recruiting registered student organizations for 2017-2018! SOWI connects student organizations with tools and resources to help them positively impact the health and wellness of their organization members and the campus community. If your organization is interested in joining SOWI, please complete the application by Friday, June 30. If you have questions, email Shantille Connolly at email@example.com.
UC Davis students and student organization members, could you use help paying for food each month? Nearly 1 in 3 UC students identify as being food insecure. CalFresh is a nutrition assistance program that intends to reduce food insecurity by providing monthly benefits that help you purchase nutritious foods.
